Mrs. Billye Jean Graves Brown, 86, longtime resident of the Walnut and Falkner areas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 24th at Tippah County Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.
A celebration honoring the life of Mrs. Brown will be on Sunday, May 26th at 2:00 PM in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home. Brother Bill Baker will be officiating with Brother Don Wilson sharing personal reflections. Private family will follow in the Harmony Cemetery at Walnut.
Mrs. Billye was born on August 26, 1932 to George and Fannie Bailey-Porter Graves. She received her education in the Tippah County School System and soon became a home -maker and mother to four wonderful children.
Being known for her love of the color red and red lipstick, Mrs. Brown donned her red lips even after she became ill. She had a love for animals and was passionate about baking and gardening and her greatest strength came from reading her Bible.
Visitation for Mrs. Brown will continue today one hour before services at the Ripley Funeral Home.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Deborah Gray (Joseph) of Walnut and Lisbeth Wildman of Walnut. One sister, Mrs. Ethel Wright of Falkner. Six Grandchildren and nine Great Grand-children and four Great- Great Grand-children. She was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children, Austin R. Brown, two sons, Larry Austin Brown and Gary Lynn Brown, and two grandsons and one great grand-daughter.
