Bonnie Jewell Chapman Obituary

Bonnie Jewell Storey Chapman, 87, resident of Ripley, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday morning November 21, 2018 at Tippah County Hospital in Ripley.
Funeral Services cherishing the life of Mrs. Chapman will be at 11 AM Saturday November 24 at The Ripley Church of Christ with her son, Leslie Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Chapman Cemetery near Ripley. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
Born October 11, 1931 in Dumas, MS, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Burwell and Mary Virginia Bullock Storey. Mrs. Chapman was a 1950 graduate of Dumas High School in Tippah County and continued her education at Northeast Mississippi Community College. She was married September 14, 1952 to her beloved husband, Lee Hugh "L.H." Chapman who preceded her in death on April 29, 2003.
A member of Ripley Church of Christ and homemaker throughout most of her life, Mrs. Chapman was employed by Griffins Supermarket in Ripley for a number of years before her retirement. An avid conversationalist, Mrs. Chapman often commented that her primary reason to work was the pleasure she received from visiting with friends and customers.
Mrs. Chapman was passionate about her family, friends and giving to others. She had a servant's heart and often "gave away" personal items. She will be remembered for her love of the outdoors and growing beautiful flowers with a special love of day lilies.
Visitation for Mrs. Chapman will be from 5 PM to 8 PM Friday November 23 at The Ripley Funeral Home and will continue Saturday one hour before services at The Ripley Church of Christ.
She is survived and adored by a daughter, Donnita Ginn (Pat) of Corinth, Leslie Chapman (June) of Nashville, TN and Ronald Chapman (Jane) of Ripley, one sister, Carrie Etta Powell of Tupelo, one brother, Kenneth Storey of Tupelo, six grandchildren, Robert Chapman (Amy), Kyle Chapman (Andrea), Brandon Chapman (Loann), Nathan Ginn, Robert Bryant, Jr. (Wendy) and Joey Bryant (Jackie) and 6 great grandchildren, Grant and Luke Chapman, Mackenzie, Katherine Grace and Olivia Bryant and Bailey Reese.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Hugh Rex Chapman, a grandson, Lance Ginn and her step mother, Coy Williams Storey.
The family request that memorials be directed to Pine Vale Children's Home, 1872 CR 700 #1, Corinth, MS 38834
