Curtis Roy Lee Ray, 83, lifelong resident of Tippah County, passed away peacefully July 29, 2023, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth.
Funeral Service honoring the life of Mr. Ray will be 2 PM, Tuesday August 1, 2023, at Marlow Church of Christ with Bro. Donald Roberson officiating. Visitation will be 11 AM until 2 PM, Tuesday August 1, 2023, at Marlow Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. Ripley Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Born January 11, 1940, Mr. Ray was the son of the late Mariom Orville and Daze Lee Paul Ray. He received his education in the Ashland Public School System and was married to his beloved wife, Mary Ann Brewer Ray for 47 years, before her passing on October 4, 2010. He was a skilled heavy machine operator for 60 years where he operated a bulldozer with Argo Construction and other companies in the North Mississippi area. Mr. Ray loved his Lord and was a faithful member of Marlow Church of Christ.
A hard worker, Mr. Ray turned his passion into a living and truly loved what he did. Often times he could be found working on his bulldozer and just being outdoors. He loved nothing better than sitting in a rocking chair, chewing on tobacco and enjoying God's creation. Mr. Ray was a friend to many and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memories include four sisters, Daisy Johnson, Judy Robbins, Allene Carter, and Rosemary Cornelius, two brother, Leland Ray and Jerry Ray, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
He is also preceded in death by two sons, Tracy Lynn Ray and Odis R. L. Ray, and one grandson.
