David Michael Riley Obituary

David Michael Riley, 42, resident of Satillo passed away unexpectedly Wednesday November 8, 2023, at his home.

Funeral Services honoring Dave's life are private. Ripley Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.

Born August 3, 1981, in Columbus MS, Dave is the son of Kim Riley. He received his education from Saltillo High School and continued his education at Advanced Individual Training School in Balitmore. He served his country proudly serving as a combat vet, mechanic, and being in Iraq from 2010 until 2012. During his service, Dave fought for his country and lost many friends, but believed in the verse John 15:13, "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friend." After returning home from the service, Dave met the love of his life, Kelly Joyner Riley, who survives. They married on November 19, 2016, and began to build a life together. They made their passion into a living working side by side in the Hemp Business and Cannabis Business where they did marketing and retail work.

Dave had a way about him that drew people to him. He had an act for style, and normally dressed very fashionable, while wearing his sneakers. He enjoyed electronic music, which included his favorite jam band, Grateful Dead and never missed the opportunity go to different types of shows with Kelly. He had a big circle of friends that played Fortnite, who he always found joy being on the headset with. Out of all Daves passions, his true love was his wife, Kelly. They were meant for each other and their love for each other was clear to see. They loved to travel, spend time together, and raise their two cats, Cheese "Cheesy" Burger and Kushy "Kush". Dave had a big heart and deeply loved his friends, family, cats, and his wife. He was a treasure to everyone. He fought a good fight, and we find comfort in knowing that he is finally at peace. We will always cherish the good memories and times we shared with him.

In addition to his wife, Kelly, those left to cherish his memories include his mother, Kim Riley, his siblings, Chad and Raquel Owen, his nephew, Kane Richey, his grandparents, Linda and Harry Culpepper, his mother and father in law, Allison and Sammie Joyner, his two feline friends, "Cheesy" and "Kush", Marley Riley, and a host of aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends that loved him dearly.

He was welcomed into heaven by his grandfather, Butch Riley, his great grandparents, Carl and Marjorie Kingsley, and Zora Riley, and his good buddy, P. J. Jones.
