David William Hunsucker

David William Hunsucker, 75, resident of Ashland, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN.
Services honoring the life of Mr. Hunsucker will be at 2PM Sunday, November 13, 2022 in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Hall and Bro. Tom Wilder officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Ashland.
Mr. Hunsucker was born on April 23, 1947, the son of the late William Curtis and Agnus Anderson "Nancy" McCormick Hunsucker and was a graduate of Ashland High School. On May 20, 1966, he married his beloved wife, Merion Goolsby Hunsucker, who survives. Mr. Hunsucker proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 until 1968 during the Vietnam War Period and was owner and operator of David's Transmission Shop in Ashland for 16 years before retirement.
Mr. Hunsucker will be remembered for his love of singing gospel music at various retirement homes and churches, leading music and playing the guitar for his band," The Magnolia Express", hunting and fishing as long as his health permitted.
He will be missed by all of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be from 12PM until 2PM on Sunday, November 13 at the Ripley Funeral Home.
Those left to cherish memories include his beloved wife of 56 years, Merion Goolsby Hunsucker of Ashland, one daughter, Tammie Cobb of Myrtle, two grandchildren, Colton Allen and Kinsey Cobb Huckaby (Isaac), a brother-in-law, Lynn Goolsby (Martha), a sister-in-law, Mary Sweatman Hunsucker and 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Renea Hunsucker and a brother, Joe Thomas "Tommy" Hunsucker.
