Dennis Wayne Story, 73, resident of Blue Mountain and retired operator of D's BBQ in Blue Mountain, departed this life on Thursday May 2, 2019 at Diversicare Health & Rehabilitation Center in Ripley following an extended illness.
Funeral Services honoring the life of Mr. Story will be at 2 PM Monday May 6 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Barnes and Bro. Charles Cooper officiating. A private family interment is planned.
Mr. Story was born February 26, 1945 in Caruthersville, Missouri, the son of the late William Chris and Gladys Marie Sebree Story. He received his education in the Caruthersville Public School System and was married June 11, 1981 to his beloved wife, Linda Dixon Story, who survives.
A Christian, Mr. Story was a valued employee of Blue Mountain Production for over 20 years before his retirement.
An avid Cardinals fan, Mr. Story will be remembered for his love of the outdoors which included fishing, deer hunting and "piddling" with his tractors. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Visitation will be Monday from 12 Noon to 2 PM at The Ripley Funeral Home.
In addition to his wife of 37 years, survivors include a daughter, Stacie Lynn Woodrick (Chancey) of Houston, TX, one son, Timothy Dixon (Cindy) of Hickory Flat, one sister Linda Gail Story of Houston, TX, two brothers , Robert Lee Story of Blue Mountain and Sterling Story of Baldwyn, five grandchildren and one great grandson.
