Derrick Alan Glass

With broken hearts and with the knowledge that our Heavenly Father will give us strength to endure, the family of Derrick Alan Glass, 24, asks for your prayers in the loss of our much loved Derrick who tragically died Thursday morning September 27, 2018.
  Funeral Services for Derrick will be at 11 AM Friday October 5 at West Ripley Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Baker and Bro. Randy Isbell officiating. Personal Remarks will be given by Derrick's aunt, Gina Gates and brother in law, Jase Wilbanks. Private burial will follow in the Palmer Cemetery near Ripley. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Derrick was born April 14, 1994 in New Albany, MS and is the son of Dock Glass and Rhonda Young Glass of Ripley. He was a 2012 graduate of Falkner High School where he was an active member of the Falkner Eagles football and basketball teams. He continued his education at Northeast Mississippi Community College before taking time to explore different opportunities. He served his country in the National Guard, traveled with Disney On Ice, was employed at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in New Albany and Hibbets Athletic Store in Ripley. He was eager to begin a new phase and had recently re-enrolled at Northeast Community College to pursue a degree in Psychology.
  In his short time here on earth, Derrick will be remembered as mannerly, polite and devoted to his family. He strived to be the best and excelled in all he accomplished. An avid chess player, Derrick also enjoyed the outdoors that included playing basketball, corn-hole and disc-golf. Blessed with a large group of friends, his life has been enriched immeasurably by all that knew and loved him.
  Visitation for Derrick will be from 5 PM to 9 PM Thursday October 4 at West Ripley Baptist Church and will continue Friday until service time.
  In addition to his parents, Derrick's memory will be treasured by his sister, Sabrina Wilbanks (Jase) of Ripley, one brother, Erik Glass of Clearwater, FL, grandparents, Johnny and Patsy Little of Ripley and Betty McIntyre of Tampa, FL, a niece, Lola Kay Wilbanks, a host of family and many friends that were all touched by his loving spirit and infectious smile.
