Edward Junior Kelsey

Edward Junior Kelsey, 64, resident of Ashland, departed this life on Monday, November 10,2025. A Memorial Service remembering the life of Mr. Kelsey will be at 1 PM Friday, December 12 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 PM to 1 PM Friday, November 12 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home.

Mr. Kelsey was born July 31, 1961, in Chicago, IL and is the son of the late Billy William Kelsey and the late Iva Nell Medders Severinski. He was a graduate of Kelly High School in Chicago, IL, proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. and was employed as a carpenter in the construction industry.

A strong willed, hard-working man, Mr. Kelsey will also be remembered for being kind, caring, funny and enjoyed making others smile or laugh. Hobbies included fishing, making wine, tinkering and cooking, especially fish and deer.

Those left to cherish is memory is his wife of 43 years, Rita Pierce Kelsey, one daughter, Krystal Luna (David Moore) of Saltillo, one son, Edward Junior Kelsey II, (Elise) of Ashland one sister, Barbara Cooper of Eupora, MS and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters Kimberly Strickland and Krystina Tomlinson, one sister Patricia Young and his brother, Randal Kelsey.
