On Tuesday morning, June 18, 2024, Gladys Marie Miller, 89, resident of Blue Mountain, passed away peacefully at her residence following a brief illness.
Funeral Services honoring Mrs. Miller's life will be at 1 PM Thursday June 20, 2024, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Hamilton officiating. Visitation will be from 11 AM until time of service on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Burial will be in the Blue Mountain Cemetery.
Mrs. Marie was born April 15, 1935, in Tippah County, to the late Robert “Doc” Hutchinson and Eva Lee Wooley Hutchinson. She was a graduate of Palmer School and married her beloved husband, John, in 1954. While John served in the Airforce for twenty-two years, they moved all over the United States and after his retirement from the military, they owned and operated the Blue Mountain Quick Stop for fifteen years. A Christian and member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Hickory Flat, Mrs. Miller loved watching westerns, reading, traveling and sharing time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Loving memories will continue to be shared by one daughter, Cindy Hamilton (Ricky) of Olive Branch, two sons, Ron Miller (Jeannie), of Dorsey, Terry Miller (Kathy) of Blue Mountain, two sisters, Helen Windham (Jimmy), Linda Fleming (Dave), one sister-in-law, Phyllis Hutchinson, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John Franklin “Chicken” Miller and one brother, Milton Hutchinson.
