Imogene Childs Richardson Newton

Imogene Childs Richardson Newton, 93, resident of Tiplersville, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 3, 2023 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo following a brief illness.

Funeral Services honoring the well lived life of Mrs. Newton will be at 2 Pm Friday, July 7 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Jeremy Hughey officiating. Visitation will be from 11 Am to 2 Pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Imogene was born December 6, 1929 in Tippah County, and was the daughter of the late William Nace and Fleetie Tapp Childs. She was a graduate of Falkner High School and in earlier years, was employed as a press operator with the Bilt-Rite Corporation.

A lifetime member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Mrs. Imogene will be remembered by her family as an independent, fiesty ,stubborn lady who enjoyed being with family,  tending to her pets,working in her yard and cook-outs. Living life to the fullest, she enjoyed traveling, riding 4-wheelers and just "going".

Blessed with a loving family, Mrs. Imogene's memory will continue to be cherished by her daughter, Jimmy Seawright of Tiplersville, four grandchildren, Nicky Richardson (Tracy), Robby Richardson, Justin Seawright (Tiffany) and Shannon Clark (Reed), eight great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Richardson, her second husband, Don Newton, a son, Sammy Richardson, two brothers, Hurshel Childs and Manuel Kye Childs, daughter in law, Dottie Richardson and son in law, Jerry Seawright.
