 A well lived life of 92 years, James Alton Hall, resident of the Ripley Community and United States Navy Veteran, passed away Sunday morning February 10, 2019 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo following a brief illness.
  Funeral Services, with Military Honors, remembering the life of Mr. Hall will be at 11 AM Wednesday February 13 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with long time friend, Bro. Bill Baker officiating. Burial will follow in New York Cemetery near Ripley.
  Mr. Hall was born December 11, 1926 in Tippah County, the son of the late James Clyde and Mary Lou Mercer Hall. He was a1943 graduate of Buena Vista High School in Tippah County and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the World War II Period. He was married on August 3, 1966 to his beloved wife, the former Ruby Elizabeth Williams, who preceded him in death on July 22, 2006.
  In 1952, Mr. Hall moved to Waukegan, IL and was a dedicated employee of the WEC Energy Company for thirty years. After his retirement, he and his family returned to Tippah County in 1982 and enjoyed helping his brother in the logging industry.
  An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Hall will be remembered for his love of hunting and fishing. Riding his golfcart around the neighborhood and meeting his "breakfast club" friends at the Dumas Store were favorite pasttimes.
  Visitation will continue Wednesday until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
  His memory will be honored by a host of grandchildren that include his caregiver grandchildren, Jamie and Nathan Crumpton and Kyle Hall, a number of great grandchildren and many friends.
  He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Bobbie Sue Hall and Cathy Hall McGowan, one son, Alton Keith Hall and one brother, Adrain Hall.
