James Edward Yale, lovingly known as “Jim” to many, age 81, departed this earthly life and entered his eternal home on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in the comfort of his residence in Blue Mountain, surrounded by the love of his family.
Honoring his personal wishes, Mr. Yale will be cremated, and no public service is scheduled at this time. His devoted wife, children, and extended family sincerely appreciate your prayers, love, and thoughtful expressions of sympathy during this tender season of loss.
Born on July 5, 1945, in New Kingston, Pennsylvania, Mr. Yale was the son of the late Edward James and Betty Rinehamls Yale. He received his education through the Bradford, Pennsylvania Public School System before answering the call to serve his country. A proud patriot, Mr. Yale faithfully served in the United States Marine Corps for twenty years, including during the Vietnam War. Through his service, he demonstrated unwavering courage, quiet strength, and a deep commitment to protecting the freedoms so many hold dear.
On December 27, 1976, he married the love of his life, Jo Ann Kent Yale, who survives. Together they built a life rooted in devotion, hard work, and steadfast love. Following his military retirement, Mr. Yale continued providing for his family through his work with Bench Craft while also supporting the family’s hog business and later working with Blue Mountain Production.
A Christian man and faithful member of Ripley Methodist Church, Jim lived a life guided by his faith and characterized by kindness. He found great joy in woodworking, reloading ammunition, and spending time hunting — simple pleasures that reflected his appreciation for patience, craftsmanship, and the outdoors. More than anything, however, Mr. Yale loved people. Known for his optimistic spirit, gentle nature, and willingness to lend a helping hand, he was not one to complain and never hesitated to step forward when someone was in need.
In addition to his beloved wife of 49 years, Jo Ann, his memory will be forever treasured by his two sons, Daniel J. Yale and Edward J. Yale; his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Yale Good (Phillip); two great-grandchildren, Donald Good and Kinleigh Good; one brother-in-law, Robert Anthony; and a large circle of friends whose lives were made richer by knowing him.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Yale, and one sister, Janice Anthony.
Though he will be deeply missed, the legacy of Jim’s quiet strength, servant’s heart, and enduring love will continue to live on in those who were blessed to call him family and friend.
