Jimmy Wayne Wilbanks

Jimmy Wayne Wilbanks, 75, of Walnut, Mississippi departed this life on Tuesday, September 09, 2025.

Funeral services honoring Jimmy’s life will be at 1 PM Saturday September 13, 2025, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home, with visitation from 11 AM until time of service. Bro. Doc Dollar will officiate and burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Chalybeate with no graveside service.

Jimmy was born June 15, 1950, to the late Art and Georgia Mae King Wilbanks. He was a 1968 graduate of Walnut High School and attended Northeast Mississippi Community College for mechanics.  He was drafted into the Army in 1969 and awarded the National Defense Service Medal for his service during the Vietnam War.

He loved spending time with his family, riding horses, hunting, fishing, watching John Wayne movies and drag racing in his younger years.  He worked for many years at James Otis Service Station in Walnut, then he went to work for Tippah County where he eventually retired from the Road Department.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Jim Wilbanks (Jenny), a daughter, Tiffany Wilbanks, and stepson, Shane Williamson (Liz).  He also leaves his grandchildren, Chase and Kelsey Rogers, Mackenzie Pino (Gabriel), Presley, Ryleigh and Averly Huffstutler, Caden Fiveash, Faith Williamson, Tylor Mills (Lindsey) and Blake Mills, and one great-grandson, Grayson Mills.

Pallbearers will be Chad Jordan, Johnathan Jordan, Maddox Jordan, Jeremy Luna, Bobby Manley, and Clint Horton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Gunn, Louis Glover, Sammy Montgomery, Carl Wilbanks, James Baker, and Richard Still.
