Larry Kent Hodges, 66, resident of Ripley, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. The family has requested that all services remain private.
Mr. Hodges was born August 17, 1956 in Birmingham, AL, the oldest born to the late Manuel Eugene and Janie Kent Hodges. He was a graduate of the Decatur, AL Public School System and received an Associate's Degree from North Mississippi Community College in 1976. A true "workaholic", Mr. Hodges began his career with FMC Technologies in Saltillo, continued with Cooper Tire Corporation until 1994, moved to HMC Technologies, worked with the family business, Hodges, Inc. and finally on to Baldwyn Tool & Dye where he retired in November of 2014, however, continued working with Baldwyn Tool & Dye part-time as long as health permitted.
When Mr. Hodges was not working, he enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, watching and reading Westerns. He loved his family, doted on his children and shared every opportunity to be with his much adored grandchildren.
Memories will continue to be shared by his children, Joel Hodges (Jenni) of Maylene, AL and Loren Hodges Lang (Brandon) of New Albany, one sister, Renae Loy (Del) of Natchez, three brothers, Brian Hodges of Ripley, Carl Hodges and Robert Hodges, both of Dumas and his four grandchildren, Jaycee Hodges, Hadley, Embry and Wiley Lang.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wade Hodges.
