Lawrence "Larry" Larson, 80, resident of Walnut and beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Saturday morning September 1, 2018 at The Tippah County Hospital in Ripley.
Funeral Services honoring the life of Mr. Larson will be at 12 noon Wednesday September 5 at The City of Refuge Church in Corinth with Pastor Harvern Davis officiating. A private burial is planned. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
Born November 4, 1933 in Maine, he was the son of the late Victor and Geneva Larson. Mr. Larson received his education in the Maine Public School System and was a dedicated Tractor Operator for ILM, Inc. in Falkner for over 14 years until his death. On February 9, 1985, he married former West Virginia native, Goldie Tomlin, who survives.
A Catholic by faith, Mr. Larson will be remembered for his strong work ethic and loved the company of his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, sports, the West Memphis dog track and bowling in earlier years. Watching old westerns and Bonanza on television were favorite past times.
Visitation for Mr. Larson will continue Wednesday until service time at The City of Refuge Church.
In addition to his wife of 33 years, he is survived by three daughters, Laurie Fowler (Dewey) of Loris, SC, Jean Hebert and Melanie Beasley (Chris), both of Walnut, one son, Jessie Larson (Kim) of Walnut,seven grandchildren, Amanda and Ashley Fowler, Gina Mitchell (John), Betty Hebert, Harold Hebert, Jr. (Andrea), Chris Sobota and Krista Sobota (Benji Jones) and eleven great grandchildren.
Mr. Larson was also preceded in death by one sister, one brother and one great grandchild.
