Lillie Belle Smith

Lillie Belle Smith, 96, passed away peacefully Monday, November 28, 2022, at her home in Blue Mountain, surrounded by loved ones.

Funeral Services honoring the life of Mrs. Smith will be 11 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2022, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Ripley City Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was born September 21, 1926, in Chatfield, Texas, to the late James McAllister and Birdie Houston Reed Lewis. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker throughout most of her life.

A Christian, Mrs. Smith will be remembered for her love of angels, flowers, gardening, and sharing time with family. Over her lifetime she was a caring woman who had a passion for helping for others. She knew her Lord and trusted him with her faith and is now rejoicing in the joy of salvation. 

 Visitation will be 5PM until 8PM, Friday December 2, 2022, at Ripley Funeral Home.                                                                                                                                             

Those left to cherish her memories include two sons, Gerald Pannell (Sandra) and Van Smith, nineteen grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and family.
She is also preceded in death by her husband John W. Smith Sr., one daughter, Brenda Joyce Smith, three sons, David Smith, John Smith Jr., and Larry Pannell, one sister, and eight brothers.
