Lonnie Ray Burnett

Lonnie Ray Burnett, 66, resident of Ripley, departed this life Tuesday, May 2,2023 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Corinth.

Funeral Services remembering the life of Mr. Burnett will be at 2 PM Friday, May 5 at Faith Fellowship Church with Bro. Warren Harrell officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 2 PM Friday, May 5 at Faith Fellowship Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Blue Mountain. 

Mr. Burnett was born February 28, 1956, in Three Rivers, MI, the son of the late Cecil Roy and Melba Lorine Hensley Burnett.  He received his education in the Empire Public School System in Walker County, Alabama and was employed as a business owner and as an Asphalt driver. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Burnett enjoyed hunting, fishing, trading and flea-markets. A private person, his hobbies included trips to Tunica and everything with wheels that included motorcycles, antique cars and attending car shows.  He will be remembered for the love of his family, especially his grandchildren.

Blessed with a large family, memories will be shared by four daughters, Tonya Day of Jasper, AL, Crystal Wilbert of Sayre, AL, Melba Ary (Gary) of Pontotoc and Lottie Gann (Austin) of Blue Springs, three sons, Marty Burnett (April, LeAnn) and Christopher Burnett, both of Ripley and Billy Burnett of New Albany, three sisters, Virginia Huddleston of Empire, AL, Charlotte Pickett of Bremen, AL and Tina Poole of Oakman, AL, four brothers, Wayne Burnett of Jasper, AL, David Burnett (Sarah-Jo) and Bodie Burnett, both of Ripley, Cecil Lee Burnett (Judy) of Oakgrove, KY and Buddy Burnett of Chalybeate, twenty-one grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and his companion of thirteen years, Sabrenia Phillips

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Albert Burnett, one sister, Peggy Pelt, and a daughter in law, Felicia Burnett.
