Marcie Lowery Maxwell, 84, resident of Hope, Arkansas and former resident of Ashland, passed away Wednesday morning September 26, 2018 at The Wadley Hospital in Hope, AR following an extended illness.
Funeral Services cherishing the life of Ms. Maxwell will be at 2 PM Saturday October 6 at New Hope Baptist Church in Benton County with her son in law, Bro. Reno Zunz officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
Born February 8, 1934 in Benton County, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Leon and Cornelia Rogers Lowery. Ms. Maxwell received her education in the Ashland Public School System and was a former member of Marlow Church of Christ.
A homemaker throughout her life, Ms. Maxwell moved to Memphis in earlier years and was employed as the photo studio manager at Sears Corporation until her retirement. She moved to Hope, Arkansas seven years ago to be near her daughter. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and caregiver. Her love for family was unending and she enjoyed every opportunity to be with them. Ms. Maxwell leaves behind many treasured memories for her family and friends for years to come.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Shappley Miner (Tim) of Hope, AR and Sherri Shappley Zunz (Reno) of Tampa, FL, seven wonderful grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one niece and a special cousin, Eloise McAlister.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, William Phillip and Lloyd Jerry Shappley, two brothers, Lloyd Leon Lowery, Jr and Bobby Neil Lowery.
