On Thursday morning, Aprill 11, 2024, Martha Stroup Presley, 76, resident of the Pine Grove Community, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.
Visitation for Mrs. Presley will be from 11 AM to 1 PM Friday, April 12 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 1 PM Friday , April 12 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Doc Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Chapman Cemetery.
Mrs. Presley was born May 28, 1947, in Tippah County, the daughter of the late Ira and Julie Brady Stroup. She received her education in the Pine Grove Public School System and on August 1, 1964, married her beloved husband Grady Tate Presley who preceded her in death on January 27, 2022.
A member of Paynes Chapel Community Church, Mrs. Presley, a people person, was employed with Tippah County Hospital, Dee's Florist, Pine Grove School System and was a babysitter for her community and wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hobbies included gardening, canning, catching up "with the latest news" on the phone with her friends, Juan Stroupe and Nelda Ketchum, sharing quality time with her family, cooking and making cakes for the sick (she could make a mean Elvis Presley cake).
Memories will continue to be shared by her children, Randy Presley (Susan), Rhonda Jones (Chris) and Rebecca Davis (Josh), grandchildren, Heather Elliott (Tony), Cody Presley. Megan Williams (Paul), Alex Jones (Kelsey), Tyler Presley, (Jorga), Julie Wentz, Clay Davis and Carter Davis, great grandchildren, Riley Presley, Abraham Ewing, Forrest Mullins and Veda Ewing.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Birdie Coleman and brother, Wayne Stroup.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Chase Chapman, Terry Chapman, Carter Davis, Clay Davis, Alex Jones, Cody Presley, Tyler Presley, Jimmy Walker, and Paul Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Presley, Larry Jarman, Billy Hoyt Richardson, and three very special ladies, Mary Boyd, Donna Johnson, and Sharon Hamer who showed so much love, care, and dedication to Mrs. Presley and her family during her sickness.
