Ollie Carol Moore Mauney

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Mrs. Ollie Carol Moore Mauney, 81, resident of Tippah County passed away peacefully January 31, 2023, at Diversicare Health and Rehabilitation Ceneter in Ripley.

Funeral Services honoring the life of Mrs. Carol will be 1 PM Friday February 3, 2023, in the Heritage Chapel of The Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Lowry Church Cemetery. 

Mrs. Carol was born July 11, 1941, in Ripley, Ms., to the late Brewer and Hester Blythe Moore and received her education from Centre School in Tippah County. After graduation Mrs. Carol wanted to see the world, so she joined the United States Marine Corp and served her country proudly. She lived many different places and was fortunate to visit California and Hawaii. After returning back home she married her beloved husband, W. P. "Doc" Mauney and together they raised a wonderful family. A member of the Mississippi Extension, her door was always open, and had the pleasure of hosting knitting and quilting classes once a week. 

Mrs. Carol enjoyed watching Televison, especially MacGyver, she was his biggest fan. She traveled a lot with her sisters and was always ready to go anywhere and everywhere. Bringing family together for dominos and cards, along with a good home cooked meal, is what Mrs. Carol enjoyed most. Grandchildren meant everything to her, and she was often happiest when surrounded by her large brood. A Christan with a true servant heart, she followed in the footsteps of her faith and was a firm believer in the power of prayer. Mrs. Carol loved the Lord, and her family finds comfort knowing that she is now rejoicing in Heaven.

Visitation will be 10 AM until 1 PM, Friday, February 3, 2023, in the Heritage Chapel of The Ripley Funeral Home.

Those left to cherish her well lived life include one daughter, Lewra Eaker (Steven), one son, Mac Mauney, three grandchildren, Billy Eaker (Rachell), Courtney Bennett (Nathan) and Andrew Eaker, a great grandson, Warren James Eaker, and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is also proceeded in death by four sisters and one brother.
