On Thursday February 28, 2019, Samuel Randolph Jeter, 73, resident of Ripley, passed away at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo following an extended illness.
Funeral Service remembering the life of Mr. Jeter will be at 2 PM Sunday March 3 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Ray Vuncannon officiating. Opening remarks will be given by Bro. Tommy Young and Personal Reflections will be given by long time family friend, Bro. Doc Shelton. Burial will follow in Paynes Chapel Cemetery near Ripley.
Mr. Jeter was born May 13, 1945 in Tippah County and was the son of the late Fred and Onie Smith Jeter. He received his education at Center School in Tippah County and was married December 7, 1963 to his beloved wife, the former Donna Kay Pannell who preceded him in death in 2013.
An avid outdoorsman, lifelong resident of Tippah County and farmer for much of his life, Mr. Jeter attended Fellowship Christian Church in Ripley. He had a passion for planting big gardens, hunting with his dogs and fishing with his best buddy, Paul Dean Cissom. He could often be seen riding his tractor, taking care of his canine rat terriers, "Jack" and "Cuckle-Burr" and sharing opportunities with his much adored grandchildren.
Mr. Jeter will be remembered for his talents of repairing anything with a motor and teaching his sons how to do the same. He leaves behind a legacy of wonderful memories for family and friends to treasure until they all meet again.
Visitation will continueSunday from 12 noon until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
Those left to honor his memory include his children, Jason Jeter (Jessica) of Ripley, Ryan Jeter (Tonya), Samantha Vick and Randy Vick (Lisa) all of the Mitchell Community, one sister, Kathy Luna (Eddie) of the Mitchell Community, nine grandchildren, Virginia Rolison, Shannon, Gavin, Reed and Remy Jeter, Brandon, Hunter, Caylee Clark and Ranna Vick, and his special friends, Charlotte Vick, Randy and Rhonda Ketchum.
He was also preceded in death by his loyal canine Yorkie, "Tank".
