Shirley L. Rhodes Brown

Shirley L. Rhodes Brown, 85, resident of Ashland, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Magnolia Place Assisted Living in New Albany after a long battle with Alzheimers.

Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Brown will be Friday, September 22, 2023 at 11AM in the sanctuary of Ashland Church of Christ.  Visitation will be held Thursday, September 21 from 5PM until 8PM at Ripley Funeral Home and at Ashland Church of Christ on Friday from 10AM until time of service.  Burial will follow in the Ashland Church of Christ Cemetery.

Born in Benton County on January 12, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Flora Roberson Rhodes.  Mrs. Brown will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all that knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband, William Earl Brown of Ashland, two daughters, LaGail Ford (Kenny) of Tuscumbia, AL, and Sharon Peeler (David) of New Albany, three grandchildren, Deda Minor of Muscle Shoals, AL, Devin Ford of Birmingham, AL, and Rachel Kachelman (Stephen) of Starkville, two great grandchildren, Alex and Race Minor of Muscle Shoals, AL.  She was preceded in death one son, Angel L. Ortiz Jr. and a brother, Tread Rhodes.
