Teresa Marie Ray Barnes

Teresa Marie Ray Barnes, 54, resident of Ashland MS, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services honoring Teresa will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday April 29, 2023 in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. John Huggins and Bro. Zachary Howell officiating.  Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery near Walnut.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at the Ripley Funeral Home.

Teresa was born March 23, 1969 in Memphis TN, the daughter of Ann Thompson Ray of Ashland and the late Edward Ray. She received her education from Ashland High School and received her associate degree in accounting from Northeast Mississippi Community College.  Currently employed with the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services, she served 25 years as an administrative assistant.  

A true Christian and a firm believer of faith, Teresa was a member of Hamilton Baptist Church and loved to mentor their youth.  She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, heart of gold and sharing times with family, especially her grandchildren.  Favorite past times included listening to Christian music, watching television and dining out.

In addition to her mother, those left to cherish her memories include daughters Morgan Adams (Ben) of Tiplersville, Anna Siddell (Isaiah) of Walnut, brother Franklin Ray of Ashland and three much adored grandchildren.
