On Sunday, July 21, 2024, Willard Jean Talley, 88, resident of Walnut, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Corinth, MS.
Funeral Services honoring Mrs. Talley's life will be at 2 PM Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at County Line Baptist Church in Tippah County with Bro. Wayne Cornett and Bro. Gary Porterfield officiating. Visitation will be from 5 PM until on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, and from 9 AM until time of service on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Burial will follow in the County Line Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Talley was born April 27, 1936, in Tippah County, to the late Lummie and Willie Wilbanks Barnes. She received her education from Chalybeate School and was a homemaker for most of her life. On July 15, 1955, she married her beloved husband, Blanton Talley, who precedes her in death. A member of County Line Baptist Church, she will be remembered for her love of her family, who was her life, cooking and sharing time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Talley was a kind and caring lady, who enjoyed taking care of others.
Memories will continue to be shared by two daughters, Barbara Jerrolds of Kossuth, Mary Bates (Phillip) of Walnut, two sons, Bobby Talley (Anita) of Falkner, Jerry Talley of Walnut, one sister, Eleanor Mathis Shaw of Tupelo, nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Billy Talley, five sisters, Hazel and Emma Wilbanks, Lovie Cross, Ruby Aldridge, Edith Hamm, three brothers, Ray, Raymond, and K.C. Barnes and one great-grandson, Luke Bryan Porterfield.
