“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”  2 Timothy 4:7

William Larry White, 78, resident of New Albany and retired mechanic at VF Trucking, entered Heaven from the Veteran’s Home in Oxford on Saturday, March 9, 2024.

Mr. White was born on December 29, 1945, in Booneville, the son of the late Thomas Deverna and Willie Dean Pardue White.  He was a graduate of Booneville High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, serving 2 tours in Vietnam.  On December 29, 1978, he married his beloved wife, Bonnie Jean Little White, who survives.

A Baptist, who dearly loved his church, Larry will be remembered as one of the best mechanics around and those skills were passed down to his son, Will.  He had the ability to fix just about anything with no help and those skills were passed down to his son, Chris.  He loved gardening and could grow the best tomatoes, which he would share the fruits of his labor with family and friends alike, but most of all, raising pumpkins for his grandchildren, Ashley (Peanut), Logan and Katie.  His favorite past time was fishing with his brothers at Steel Bridge and in later years, taking his sons fishing at Pick Wick.

Memories will continue to be shared by his wife, Bonnie, three sons, Will (Jennifer) White of Blue Mountain, Chris (Nayeli) White of New Albany, Danny White of Dallas, Texas, two sisters, Diane (Tim) Beck, and Laquita (Bryan) Bain, two brothers, Thomas K. White and David White, seven grandchildren, Ashley (Peanut), Logan, Katie, Devin, Kenneth, Jamie and Isabel Stuehler, and a baby boy White, due in May, a sister-in-law, Earnesteen White of Wheeler and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Jean Gahagen and eight brothers, Joseph, Floyd, Milton, Lester, Bobby, Jimmy, Kerry and Sam.

The family request that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.
