 Charles Wayne Burchett, Sr. 76, resident of the Ripley Community and well known retired mechanic and timber cutter, passed away Friday December 8, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness.
  Services honoring the life of Mr. Burchett will be at 3 PM Monday December 11 at Lowry United Methodist Church with church pastor, Bro. Kenneth Harrison officiating. He will be assisted by Bro. Doc Shelton. Burial will follow in Lowry Cemetery. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Born September 21, 1941 in Middleton, TN, he was the son of the late G.S. and Mildred Richardson Burchett. He received his education in the Tennessee Public School System and moved to Tippah County with his family at an early age where he continued his education.
  A person with Christian values and a member of Lowry United Methodist Church, Mr. Burchett will be remembered as an avid conversationalist who never met a stranger. He enjoyed tractors and anything involved with motors.
  With his trademark cowboy hat, Mr. Burchett was a family oriented person who had a love for the outdoors that included hunting and fishing.
  Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Martha Ann Hopper Burchett, three sons, Charles Wayne Burchett, Jr. (Reba), Billy Burchett (Debra) and Thomas Burchett (Mary) all of Ripley, 4 grandchildren, Rhonda Sanders (Eddy), Ashley Poole (Randy), Missy Burchett and Nathan Burchett and four great grandchildren.
  He was also preceded in death by a brother, G. H. Burchett and granddaughter Tameka Burchett.
