Helen Jamieson McMillin, longtime resident of the Falkner Community and wife of the late Ernest Wright McMillin, Jr., passed away Tuesday evening, September 20, 2016 at the Humboldt Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Humboldt, TN where she had been a resident for the past 4 months. She was 86 years of age and recently moved to Tennessee to be near her granddaughter.
  Funeral Services honoring the Christian Life of Mrs. McMillin will be at 2 PM Sunday, September 25 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Falkner Cemetery.
  A native of Chalybeate Community in Tippah County, Mrs. McMillin was born November 30, 1929, the daughter of the late Thomas M. and Willie Mae Horton Jamieson. She was a graduate of Chalybeate High School and was married at the age of 18 to Ernest Wright McMillin, Jr. who died in 1991. Mrs. McMillin will be remembered as a long time valued employee of The Bank of Falkner and CB&S Bank for many years before her retirement. An active and devoted member for many years of The Falkner Baptist Church, will be remembered for her Christian Faith. Known as a person who enjoyed humor, baking and reading, she always had a "twinkle in her eye" for her customers, friends and family. Gardening, music, sewing and crocheting were favorite past times.
  Visitation will be from 12 Noon until service time Sunday at The Ripley Funeral Home.
  Mrs. McMillin is survived by her grandchildren, Sarah Johnson (Dustin) of Medina, TN and Matthew Henderson (Cassi) of Torrence, CA, her great grandsons, Nathan Henderson and Hunter Johnson and a host of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her children, Jim McMillin and Jamie Henderson and husband, Martin Henderson, 2 sisters, Ruth Shaw and Lucy Boykin and 2 brothers, William and Leroy Jamieson.
  Mrs. McMillin leaves a legacy of faith, service, devotion and love for family, friends, church and community.
