  Jackie Ray Hill, 61, resident of the Ripley Community for much of his life and native of Tippah County, died Thursday evening December 29, 2016 at the Rush Specialty Hospital in Meridian following an illness of several years.
  Services, with Military Honors for Jackie, will be at 2 PM Sunday, January 1, 2017 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home Personal Reflections given by friends. A private family burial will be in the New Prospect Cemetery near Ripley.
  He was born January 9, 1955 in Tippah County, the son of Jamie (Hover) Hill and the late Bess Yates Hill. He received his education at Ripley High School and was a Certified Commercial Kitchen Equipment Specialist. Jackie was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Mississippi National Guard in earlier years.
  He was a member of the New Prospect Presbyterian Church and was a lifelong Chicago Cub's fan. As a young person he was employed as a service technician by Hillman-Hopper Appliance Company in Ripley. Jackie will be remembered as a person who enjoyed his grandchildren, playing the saxaphone, meeting and talking with people. He received pleasure being involved with his daughters' school activities which included girl-scouts and baseball.
  A visitation for family and friends will be 1 hour before services at The Ripley Funeral Home.
  In addition to his father, Jackie leaves his daughters, Ashley Clemmer (Jeffery) of Ripley and Whitney Henry (Eric) of New Albany, 4 sisters, Terri Hill, Randy Elam (Eddie), Jill Goodwin (Buddy), Mackenzie Hill, a brother, Casey Hill (Carla), 8 grandchildren, Emma, Maddie, Gabe, Logan. Owen, Kayla, Emmalee and Taylor.
  He was lso preceded in death by a sister, Ginger Gale Hill and a brother JJ Hill.
  The American Flag at The Ripley Funeral Home entrance honors Mr. Hill and all veterans who served our country....GOD BLESS AMERICA.
