Mallie Hershel Jeanes, 79, lifelong resident of the Ripley Community, retired employee of Cubicon Corporation and husband of Brenda Childs Jeanes, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 following an extended illness at his residence in the loving presence of his family. Services honoring the life of Mr. Jeanes will be at 11 AM Saturday, June 18 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with burial in the Spout Springs Presbyterian Cemetery. A native of Tippah County, Mr. Jeanes will be remembered by many as a self-taught musician who enjoyed singing with family members and playing a variety of instruments.He attended Emmanuel Holiness Church, his many interests included watching the Atlanta Braves, fishing, hunting, gardening and most of all having quality time with his much loved family. Visitation will continue today until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home. In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughters, Tammy Rice (Michael) of Danville, CA, Tina Baker (Michael) of Blue Mountain and Wendy Baker (Jonathan) of Ecru, his son Steve Hugh Jeanes of Ripley, his sister Annie Ree James of Ripley, his brother, Wayne Jeanes of Walnut, his grandchildren Chloe and Jackson Rice, John, James, Jonah, Hannah, Allison, Savannah, Waverly and Jon Chandler Baker, Justin and Jonathan Bennett, Tonya Smith, Anthony Jeanes, Jennifer Shettles and Amber Tillman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Allen and Icie Rainey Jeanes, sisters, Era Rogers, Fleetie Dupree, Bertha Taylor and Mary Barkley, his brothers, Joe Alvie and Hubert Jeanes and a son, Jimmy Hershel Jeanes.
