Martha Miller Sappington Scholle

Martha Sappington Scholle, 76, beloved resident of the Blue Mountain Community and talented gospel musician, peacefully passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Services honoring the well lived life of Ms. Martha will be at 2 PM Tuesday, June 14 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with burial in Blue Mountain Cemetery. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Martha's generous spirit and enduring faith have left her family and friends with a legacy that they will forever cherish. She was a lovely lady with an enormous capacity to give of her talents and share her love with other people. An avid high school basketball fan, she will be remembered for her love of canning, quilting, cooking for church dinners and spending quality time with her family and friends. Visitation will be from 5 PM to 8 PM June 13 and will continue until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home. Ms. Martha is survived by her children, Pamela Sappington of Brandon, Carol Robbins (Russell) and Harry Sappington, Jr. (Leandra) of Blue Mountain, Betty Aston (Steve) of Pontotoc , step-daughter, Melanie Misson (Brian) of Virginia, a sister, Ann Stagner of Blue Mountain, a brother, Larry Miller (Carla) of Ripley, son in law, Shane Young, sister in law, Charlene Miller, her grandchildren, Katie, Jonathan, Jacob, Sarah, Matt, Anna, Elizabeth, Shanda, Whitney, Timothy, Tyler, Lakan, Lauren, Ashton, Madelyn and 17 great grandchildren and her special friend , Beverly Humphries. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas H. and Irene Smith Miller, her husbands, Harry Dewayne Sappington,who died in 1990 and, Dr. Louis C. Scholle,who died in 2001 , step-daughter, Sonja Young and her brothers, David and Terry Miller. The Ripley Funeral Home
