Mary Bernice Daniel Brazil, a resident of Tippah County for 58 yeras before moving to the Middleton Community 10 years ago, passed away peacefully Monday evening February 13, 2017 at the McNairy Health and Rehabilitation Center in Selmer, TN. She was 90 years of age and died following an illness of several months.
  Services honoring this Christian lady will be at 3 PM Thursday February 16 at New Bethel Baptist Church at Middleton with Bro. Robert Buse, Pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery near Walnut. The Ripley Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
  A native of Covington, TN, Mrs. Brazil was born December 15, 1926, the daughter of the late Charlie and Alice Holliman Daniel. She received her education in the Tipton Couinty, TN school system and was the wife of the late Henry "Burdis" Brazil, a US Army WW II Veteran who died July 24, 1988.
  She was employed by the ITT Corporation in Corinth for over 25 years before her retirement. Mrs. Brazil was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and in earlier years was a member of Oakland Baptist Church before moving to Middleton to be near her daughter.
  A lifetime fan of John Wayne and Shirley Temple, Mrs. Brazil was a family oriented person who was known for her love of her grandchildren, vegetable gardening, fishing and feeding hummingbirds.
  Visitation will continue today at the church 2 hours before services.
  Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Linda Russell (Dennis) of Middleton, TN, a brother, Bill Daniel of Drummonds, TN, her grandchildren, Joseph (Lisa) and Chris (Katie) Spencer and Kim Clifton, and 4 great grandchildren, Greg, Calie Grace, Olivia Kate Spencer and Cody Clifton. She is also preceded in death by a son, Roger "Ricky" Brazil, 2 sisters, Margaret Greer and Aileen Randall and a brother, WC Daniel.
  The family would like to express sincere thanks to Angelia Lambert and Joann Long for serving as special caregivers to Mrs. Brazil.
