Services honoring the Christian life of Mrs. Robbins will be at 11 AM Wednesday May 3 at Turners Chapel Baptist Church where she was a long time devoted member with her pastor, Bro. Howard Goolsby officiating. Burial will follow in the Criswell Cemetery near Ripley. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
Born August 4, 1932 in Tippah County, she was the daughter of the late Leonzie Hopper and Lula Richardson Thurmond, early residents of the Chapman Community. She received her education at Centre School in Tippah County and was married to James Russell Robbins, a proud U.S. Army Veteran who served his country during the WW II period. Mr. Robbins preceded his wife in death on March 18, 2001.
A devoted homemaker throughout her life, Mrs. Robbins was associated with her brother for many years in the operation of Mauney's Grocery in the Chapman Community. After her retirement she continued to enjoy her friends by serving as a Sales Clerk for Fred's Inc. in Ripley.   Mrs. Robbins will be remembered for many things; her faith in God, the love she had for her church, her gracious and welcoming nature, her involvement in her community and her unwavering love and loyalty to her friends and family. Those closest to her will not soon forget this beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
