Ray Eugene Crom, Jr., 60, resident of the Ripley Community, avid outdoorsman and husband of Reigan Baranowski Crom, passed away at his home on Wednesday August 10, 2016 after an extended illness.
  Private Family Services are planned. The Ripley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
  Born August 26, 1955 in Nebraska, Ray was the son of Ray and Viola Cooper Crom.
  A resident of Tippah County since 1994, Ray was an organizer and coordinator for fishing tournaments throughout the United States for Ken Freeman Outdoors Associates. His love for work and his passion for outdoor activites began at an early age. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting pool and playing Xbox He was an avid traveler and had the opportunity to visit 49 States and would have gone to Hawaii, but "he couldn't drive there" according to his family.
  In addition to his wife, he leaves his children Heather Petersen (Greg) of Huntington, AL, Matthew Barber of Knoxville, TN, Eli Crom and Zach Crom, both of Ripley, his sister, Tammy Thompson of Little Rock, AR, his brother, Tommy Thompson of Blue Mountain and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Joe Thompson.
