Rodmond Larson, resident of the Dumas Community, US Veteran and husband of Linda Garrison Larson, died Saturday morning, Jan.23, 2016 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford following an extended illness. Funeral Services, with Military Honors, will be at 2 PM Tuesday, Jan. 26 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with burial in the Fellowship Cemetery.
A Christian and a native of Red Oak, Iowa, Mr. Larson was a retired telecommunication coordinator for Union Pacific Railroad and was a US Air Force Veteran for 4 years, serving stateside and in Germany. Known as a jokester who loved humor, Mr. Larson had been a resident of Tippah County for 20 years enjoying the rural way of life that included fishing, vehicle repairs and serving as a handyman. He was devoted to his family with a special love for his grandsons.
A visitation will be from 1 PM to 2 PM Tuesday, Jan. 26 at The Ripley Funeral Home.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Larson leaves his sons, Nickolas Larson (Amber) of Guntown, Craig Larson of Hendersonville, TN and Jacob Larson of Dumas, his father, Darwin Larson of Glenwood, Iowa, a sister, Judy McFarland, a brother, Axel Larson both of Red Oak, Iowa and 2 grandsons, Carter and Collin Larson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia McCunn Larson.
