     Cloyce Marcell Luna Ray, 78, longtime resident of the Walnut Community and beloved wife of J.R. Ray for 57 years, passed away Saturday July 23, 2016 at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth after a brief illness.
     Services honoring the life of Mrs. Ray will be at 1 PM Tuesday, July 26 at the Oakland Baptist Church near Walnut. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery with arrangements provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
     Born June 7, 1938 in Tippah County to the late James and Lura Munn Luna, Mrs. Ray was a 1956 graduate of Walnut High School and was a long time member of the Oakland Baptist Church where she enjoyed music and singing. She took much pride in being a homemaker who received pleasure in cooking and baking for her family and friends. Mrs. Ray was an employee of the ITT Corporation in Corinth for over 18 years before retiring.
     Visitation will be Monday evening  from 5 PM to 8 PM at The Ripley Funeral Home and will continue at the church Tuesday morning at 10 AM.  In addition to her husband she leaves her daughter, Elaine (Cody) Jones, 3 sons, Paul (Margaret), James (Sandy) and Tim (Sharon) Ray all of Walnut, her grandchildren, Kyle, Frank (Laura), Riley, Megan, John (Courtney) and Destiny, her great grandchildren, R.J., Ally, Braxton and Brayden, her sisters, Janice Roberts, Shelia Toms, Kaye Jackson and Faye Kimery and her pet companions, Holly, Gretchen and Sugar. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Derric Ray, a sister, Darnell Roberts and her brothers in law, Robert Kimery, Joey and Jarome Roberts and Willard McKelvey.
