Jerome Kanieski, 75, resident of the Ripley Community, U.S. Army Veteran and beloved husband of Eva Kanieski, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning March 15, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness.
  Private family services are planned.
   Born October 29, 1941 in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late Edward and Irene Budilek Kanieski. A Catholic by faith, Mr. Kanieski received his education in the Willoughby School System and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving his country in the Panama Canal Zone. Mr. Kanieski was employed as a Stationary Engineer for the Cleveland Clinic for 35 years before his retirement. On January 5, 1989 he married the former Eva Ubienski who survives
  Those also left to honor his memory are : his daughter, Regina Byron (Steve), of Willoughby, OH, 2 sisters, Carol Zmarzly (Len) of Burton, OH and Rosemarie Podwoski of Blue Mountain, a brother, Norm Kanieski (Geri) of Burton, OH, 4 grandchildren, Alex, Katherine, Stephen and Amy Byron, all of Willoughby, OH, sister in law, Bernadine Kanieski, of Aurora, OH and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jimmy Kanieski, his twin and Edward Kanieski.
  The flag at the Ripley Funeral Home entrance honors Mr. Kanieski and all Veterans for their service to our country.
