May 29, 1938 ~ May 2, 2016 (age 77) 77 Years OldRuby Faye Decanter Hopkins, 77, long time resident of Benton County and much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, peacefully departed this life Monday May, 2, 2016 at her home. Funeral Services for Mrs. Hopkins will be at 2 PM Wednesday, May 4 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with burial in Hopkins Cemetery near Ashland. A native of the Etta Community, Mrs. Hopkins was a devoted homemaker who cherished her family and friends. A member of Shady Grove Baptist Church," MawMaw" had a love for flowers, gardening, quilting and animals. Never meeting a stranger, her home was always open to good food and great stories. She was the wife of the late Wade Adam Hopkins, Benton County farmer and sawmill operator who died in 1996. A visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will continue Wednesday at The Ripley Funeral Home until service time. "MawMaw" leaves her children, Tammy King (John), Danny Hopkins (Sharon), a sister, Altie Louise Thornton, all of Ashland, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and her faithful blue heeler, "Abigail". She was also preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Edner Decanter, a daughter, Shelia Fay Hopkins, a brother, Leland Decanter and a grandson Harley D. Fowler.
