Doyle Jerome Eaton, 90, resident of the Ripley Community, passed away peacefully Friday evening September 8, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany.
  Services honoring Mr. Eaton will be at 2 PM Monday September 11 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Baker, Bro. Jim Irvin and Bro. Levi Garrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Baptist Cemetery near Ripley.
  Born in Tippah County to the late Roll and Lillie Little Eaton on August 21, 1927, he was the last surviving child of thirteen. Mr. Eaton attended school at Buena Vista and was married October 4, 1946 to the former Eloise Yancey , his beloved wife of almost 71 years, who survives. Mr. and Mrs. Eaton were both currently residing at Rest Haven Health & Rehabilitation Center in Ripley.
  Mr. Eaton was a hard worker , a good provider for his family and was a retired employee of Merchant's Truck Line in Memphis. In earlier years, he worked as a farmer, carpenter, sawmill operator, logger and a loving , devoted caregiver to his wife until his health failed.will be remembered for his lifelong love of music, singing with his family and song director at Fellowship Baptist Church. His pleasures included visiting with his grandchildren, his great grandchildren, playing the bass fiddle and guitar at family "music makings".
  Visitation will Monday today until service time at The Ripley Funeral Home.
  In addition to his wife, Mr. Eaton leaves three daughters, Brenda Wilkerson and Martha Grisham (Ronnie) both of Ripley and Mary Jenkins (Bruce) of Oxford, six granddaughter, Raynee Lee, April Hobson (Jon), Miranda Garrison (Levi), Katie Jenkins, Tanya Billington (Ed) and Tina Nehls (Bill), Two grandsons, Brent Grisham and Andy Jenkins (Kristie), twelve great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a host on nieces and nephews.
  He was also preceded in death by two sons, Carl J. Eaton and an infant son, six sisters, Fairy Miller, Fern Morris, June Roten, Madge Baggett, Gilda Cappleman and Bonnie Brooksey Eaton and six brothers, Bliss, Basil, Joy, Boone, Truman and Buster Eaton.
