Maxine Cheatwood Quinn, resident of the Dumas Community and wife of the late Thomas Cecil Quinn, passed away Wednesday afternoon August 16, 2017 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo following an illness of several months.
  Services cherishing the Christian life of Mrs. Quinn will be at 2 PM Saturday August 19 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Clay Stegall and Bro. Chris Shinall offficiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Falkner.
  Born May 26, 1932 in Walnut, she was the daughter of the late Ike and Annie Windham Cheatwood. Mrs. Quinn received her education in the Tippah County School System and continued her nursing education and secretarial training while residing in Illionois. She was married August 6, 1951 to Thomas Cecil Quinn, a U.S. Army Veteran who served his country for 15 years.Mr. Quinn was a retired carpenter and builder for much of his life and preceded her in death on January 14, 2007.
  A longtime member of Dumas Baptist Church, Mrs. Quinn was devoted to her family, her church and her community.
  She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who had a passion for the outdoors that included caring for her flower gardens and feeding the hummingbirds. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
  Visitation will continue Saturday at The Ripley Funeral Home until service time.
  Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Donna Brumley (Jim) of Cotopaxi, CO, Sherry Holbein (John) of Tiplersville, Carole Kane (Mark) of Earlville, NY and Clara Meyer (Martin) of Cocoa, FL, a sister, Amy Barhan of Shreveport, LA, her grandchildren, Heather Parks and Joy Mauney, both of Ripley, April Bowen of New Albany, Crystal Massey of Dumas, Christopher Quinn of Madison, NY, Diane Harding of Grant, AL, Amanda Thompson of New Hope, AL, Lindsey Harding of Spanish Fort, AL, Melissa Hatch of Rochester, NY, Thomas Meyer of Portland, OR, Matthew Quinn of Norwich, NY and Johnny Meyer of Cocoa, FL, twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
  Mrs.Quinn was also preceded by a son, Johnny Quinn, a grandson, Eddie Christian, two sisters and four brothers.
  The flag at The Ripley Funeral Home entrance honors Mrs. Quinn's husband and all veterans for their service to our country.
  "WHEN TOMORROW BEGINS WITHOUT ME, DON'T EVER THINK WE ARE FAR APART....FOR EVERY TIME YOU THINK OF ME, I WILL BE RIGHT HERE WITHIN YOUR HEART."
