Tippah County -   Raymond Lamar Ross, resident of the Ripley Community and retired US Army career person, departed this life Monday, May 16 at the Golden Living Retirement Center in Ripley. He was 83 years of age and died following an extended illness. Private family graveside services with Military Recognition for Mr. Ross will be in the Looxahoma Cemetery near Senatobia. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home. Mr. Ross was a native of Tate County, MS and received his education in the Tate County Public School System. He served his Country as a US Army Veteran during war periods and had been a resident of the Ripley Community in recent years. He was a Baptist and was preceded in death by his wife, the former Lena Kopf who died in 1988. The American Flag at The Ripley Funeral Home entrance honors Mr. Ross and All Veterans who proudly served our Country. Mr. Ross enjoyed music, playing the guitar and Southern cooking. He is survived by his step-daughter, Joyce Boyette of Coldwater, MS.He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ressie and Emma Scott Ross and his step-son, Wayne Daniel who was a resident of Ripley before his death.
