Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your dear loved one, Willie.
Take comfort in a promise from God found at Isaiah 25:8 ; "He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord, Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces." We are reassured of this promise at Revelation 21:4 ; "And he will wipe every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore..." I hope you were comforted by these thoughts today. For more information please visit jw.org.

I am so sorry for your loss. In the bible we find hope and comfort. Jesus said in John 5:28 "the hour is coming in which all those in the graves will hear my voice and come out."

Willie and I worked together in Physical Plant and Planning, at the University of Memphis. I was 18 at the time.
He was always upbeat and glad to to do anything we were asked to put together. Whether it was repairing small items for people, to major projects such as the remodeling of the old Kennedy Hospital. I was always astounded by the immense knowledge of tools and materials he had. Most of all the correct and accurate way to use these tools.
Working with Willie was always a pleasure and something to look forward to. He usually partnered with Hubert Scoby and the two of them were always wonderful to be around.
I lost touch with him many years ago and am saddened by this. He was your exemplary employee in that he thought mostly of the company and never himself. He was driven to do the best he could on any assignment.

Mr. Whitehorn and Mr. Barron once told me to watch Willie and learn something. They were right! I think he had forgotten most of the things engineers today are just learning.
A brilliant man, a talented man, and most of all a gifted man, who was a pleasure to be around and made the world a better place because, he cared to do the right thing all the time.
He made a difference in this world, and I thank God I was around to watch him accomplish some of the things.

Seems to me I remember him remarking once, that Jesus was a Carpenter. If so, Willie reflected the same ideals as a Master Carpenter.
